Academic Challenge
In partnership with LAUSD, we are spearheding a GPA challenge for baseball and softball teams. Each participating team must commit to doing all the below requirements:

Schedule a meeting with a NCAA representative to discuss college entrance requirements.

Provide weekly scheduled Study Hall during the season for at least 1 hour total.

Schedule a time for the Academic and College Counselor to speak to team.

Weekly monitoring of each player’s academic progress.

Invite an alum back to speak to the Varsity team about life after sports
In 2025, we provided a career panel, equipment donation, and Dodgers game experience for teams with the highest average GPA and most improved average GPA, in addition to $35,000 in new equipment.

Juneteenth x Baseball Generations
We partnered with Baseball Generations to bring high school baseball players from Los Angeles to Juneteenth programming, including a career panel, and a baseball game at Dodger stadium.

Los Angeles Fire Relief - 2025
We donated $30,000 of Nike clothing, shoes, and accessories to families in our community that lost their homes and belongings in the Palisades and Eaton fires that occurred in January of 2025.

The Futures Series Partnership
In April of 2025 we visited Hyde Park Academy in Chicago and participated in a panel sponsored by the Obama Foundation. In attendance were the baseball and softball athletes of Hyde Park, and Mookie & Brianna spoke about nutrition, mental health, and their life experiences. We were also able to donate Wilson baseball and softball equipment to their athletes.

Mookie Betts Metro Baseball Tournament
Helped fund the 2025 tournament, which exists to keep baseball alive for the inner city communities of Nashville.
Prairie View A&M Bowling Team
Donated to the Prairie View A&M Bowling Team, helping them purchase new equipment for their season.
Turkey Drive
The Betts Family and the 5050 Foundation have held a turkey drive in November for the last three years in order to help support the Los Angeles community. This annual event is in partnership with the Dodgers Foundation and provides families with nutritious food options, household items, and other things they might need during the holiday season. Since 2020, roughly 6000 families of 4 have been served.
